The online session took place on June 19. It was opened by Feique’s general director, Juan A. Labat, and Jaime Peris, Spain’s Special Commissioner for Reindustrialization. Both speakers agreed that digitalization and AI are key competitiveness levers for the chemical sector.
Labat pointed to the cost savings, early problem detection, and safety gains that come with predictive maintenance. Peris placed AI and data analysis among the tools the sector needs most to boost productivity during its technological and energy transition.
The core of the session, from monom’s standpoint, came from CEO José Fernández-Díez and Product Manager Jorge Arancón. They walked attendees through how AI-based expert agents work under the hood.
These systems turn three-plus decades of hands-on plant experience into algorithms. The goal: catch failures before they happen and back maintenance calls with data instead of gut feel.
